PM Modi Welcomed in Bengaluru, Receives Memorandum from CM Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru, April 15: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah warmly welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi at HAL Airport in Bengaluru on Wednesday. The Prime Minister arrived to participate in an event at the Adichunchanagiri Math.

During this occasion, CM Siddaramaiah presented a five-page memorandum to PM Modi. The document outlined several demands, emphasizing the need for central government intervention on key issues concerning the state.

In the memorandum, Siddaramaiah highlighted the incomplete railway coach factory project in Kolar, which was announced in the railway budget. The state government has offered 1,123 acres of land for this initiative. Restarting this project would promote industrial development and create jobs in the underdeveloped Kolar region. Including the Bengaluru-Mysuru segment in the proposed high-speed rail corridor is essential for balanced regional development and improved connectivity.

Siddaramaiah respectfully requested that the central government expedite committed financial assistance for the Bengaluru suburban rail project and initiate the Bengaluru-Mumbai high-speed rail corridor, which will connect key districts including Kittur and Kalyan in Karnataka.

Ahead of PM Modi’s visit, security measures were heightened in Adichunchanagiri. Over 2,000 police personnel were deployed, including six officers of SP rank, 10 ASPs, 15 DSPs, 40 police inspectors, 151 PSIs, 92 ASIs, and 1,700 head constables and constables.

PM Modi is set to inaugurate the Shri Guru Bhairavaikya Temple in Adichunchanagiri, a prominent religious center located in Nagamangala Taluk of Mandya district.

Earlier, Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel, H.D. Kumaraswamy, expressed his heartfelt welcome to PM Modi, who is attending the inauguration ceremony of the temple dedicated to the revered Jagadguru Dr. Shri Shri Shri Bal Gangadharanath Mahaswamiji.

Kumaraswamy added, β€œIt is a matter of great joy for me that the honorable Prime Minister is visiting my home district of Mandya for this sacred and auspicious event. On behalf of Mandya district and the entire state, I extend a warm welcome to the honorable Prime Minister.”

Following his arrival, PM Modi will depart for Adichunchanagiri via an Indian Army helicopter, landing at the Shri Giri Tapovan helipad. From there, he will travel by car to the math, where he will participate in various religious rituals and join a public program. PM Modi will be the first Prime Minister to visit the Adichunchanagiri Math, and he will be honored with a ‘Mysore Peta’ made from silk from Mysore and Banaras.
