New Delhi, June 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed on Saturday for a visit to France and Slovakia. His diplomatic agenda is packed, emphasizing bilateral talks, multilateral meetings, and enhancing economic and cultural cooperation.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, PM Modi stated, “In the coming days, I will be in France and Slovakia for various events, including bilateral discussions, multilateral meetings, and interactions with the Indian community. My focus will be on strengthening economic and cultural ties.”
He added, “This trip will kick off with events in Nice, particularly the ‘India Innovates’ program, which President Macron will also attend. As India and France celebrate the ‘India-France Innovation Year,’ ‘India Innovates’ will serve as a fantastic platform bringing together innovators, startups, and those involved in the world of innovation.”
In Nice, PM Modi will also engage in discussions with President Emmanuel Macron, where both leaders will review the India-France special global strategic partnership.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the two leaders will jointly inaugurate the ‘India Innovates’ program, featuring prominent startups, innovators, and venture capital funds from India, France, and other countries. The Ministry noted that this initiative, held during the ‘India-France Innovation Year,’ further strengthens the remarkable innovation partnership between the two nations.
Following his engagements in France, PM Modi will visit Slovakia from June 14 to 16 at the invitation of Prime Minister Robert Fico. This marks the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister since Slovakia gained independence in 1993.
During his Slovakia visit, PM Modi will hold delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Fico and meet President Peter Pellegrini. Discussions are expected to explore new opportunities for collaboration in trade, investment, automobile manufacturing, and railway infrastructure.
The Ministry of External Affairs stated that this visit will reaffirm India’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Slovakia across various sectors.
Afterward, PM Modi will return to France to participate in the G7 summit in Avignon on June 16-17, where he will engage with leaders from G7 countries, invited partner nations, and heads of international organizations.
On June 18, the Prime Minister is expected to travel to Paris for additional bilateral meetings and participate in ‘VivaTech,’ Europe’s largest technology and startup event. During his Paris visit, he is also anticipated to address the Indian community.
