New Delhi, June 13: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Delhi Police has successfully apprehended Shiv Nandan Singh Yadav, a fugitive wanted in nine significant real estate fraud cases. Yadav had evaded capture for several years, making his arrest a notable achievement for the EOW.
According to police reports, Yadav initiated a housing project named ‘Krishna Kunj Township’ in the village of Tilori Khadar, Greater Faridabad, Haryana, through his company, GRPL Global Reality Private Limited, in 2013. The company lured investors with attractive advertisements and false promises, claiming to develop 496 residential plots on approximately 10.26 acres of land.
Allegations state that the company collected substantial sums from investors, but neither the land was legally available nor was any development work undertaken. Consequently, hundreds of investors suffered significant financial losses. In 2019, a total of nine FIRs were filed in the Karkardooma Court in Shahdara district, all detailing a similar modus operandi of fraud.
Yadav had been on the run since 2019, consistently evading police efforts despite multiple raids and searches. In 2023, the court declared him a proclaimed offender in all nine cases.
The EOW team maintained constant surveillance on Yadav. Based on intelligence and technical analysis, he was successfully arrested on June 12, 2026, in Faridabad, Haryana. The operation involved officers SI Praveen Kumar, Mohit, Kuldeep, and ASI Dilip Singh.
The EOW has stated that questioning of the accused is ongoing. The police are now focused on uncovering the entire network involved in this scam, identifying other accomplices, and tracing the funds obtained through fraudulent means. Efforts to identify additional victims are also being intensified.
