PM Modi Criticizes Congress for Spreading False Narratives About Films

Thiruvalla, April 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a strong address at a significant NDA rally in Thiruvalla, Kerala, on Saturday. He launched a fierce attack on the Congress party and its allies, accusing them of being adept at spreading falsehoods and misleading the nation.

Modi specifically referenced three films: ‘Dhurdhar’, ‘The Kerala Story’, and ‘The Kashmir Files’, claiming the opposition is propagating false narratives surrounding them. He stated, “When ‘The Kerala Story’ was released, they said it was all lies. When ‘The Kashmir Files’ came out, they claimed it was all false. With the release of ‘Dhurdhar’, they again insisted it was untrue, showcasing their expertise in deceit.”

He emphasized that the Congress and its allied parties consistently lie about various issues. “Their sole purpose is to spread falsehoods. They are in the business of misinformation—lies about the CAA, lies about the UCC, and lies about these films,” he asserted.

Using the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) as an example, Modi noted that when it was introduced, the opposition attempted to instill fear in the public. However, he pointed out that the CAA has been implemented without causing any harm to the nation. He also mentioned that the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) has been in effect in Goa for decades without any issues.

During the rally, the Prime Minister remarked that the opposition opposes every positive initiative and spreads lies about them. He stressed that these parties are misleading the country and urged the audience to recognize the truth behind these films and the opposition’s falsehoods. He appealed to the opposition to cease misleading the public.

‘Dhurdhar: The Revenge’ is a film centered on national security and military operations, emphasizing strong nationalism. ‘The Kashmir Files’ portrays the true story of the exodus and violence faced by Kashmiri Pandits in the 1990s. Meanwhile, ‘The Kerala Story’ tells the tale of women from Kerala who were recruited by extremist organizations. All three films faced significant criticism from Congress and some opposition parties after their release.
