
New Delhi, June 5: On the occasion of World Environment Day, various initiatives are being launched across the country. From promoting environmental conservation messages to planting trees, the efforts are diverse.
BJP MP Virendra Sachdeva planted saplings in Mayur Vihar and urged citizens to plant more trees, reduce paper usage, and avoid single-use plastics. He stated, “Today, we are running a tree plantation campaign throughout Delhi. We view nature as our mother, and it is crucial to protect it. To provide a better environment for future generations, we must plant ample trees today.”
In South Delhi, BJP MP Ramveer Singh Bidhuri called on residents to plant more trees and contribute to environmental protection and a greener future. He mentioned, “With the support of the central government, under the leadership of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and guidance from Union Minister Bhupender Yadav, we will plant trees on 10,000 acres in my constituency today. We aim to make Delhi lush and green.”
Uttar Pradesh Minister Rakesh Sachan emphasized the importance of this day, stating, “June 5, World Environment Day, is celebrated for environmental protection across our country and the globe. We plant trees and involve the public to raise awareness. This day reminds us that safeguarding Mother Earth and the environment is our collective responsibility. Everyone should plant at least one tree during the rainy season.”
Minister Danish Azad Ansari from Uttar Pradesh introduced the ‘One Tree in the Name of Mother’ campaign, which commenced today on World Environment Day. He encouraged everyone to plant a tree in honor of their mothers.
West Bengal Minister Agnimitra Paul highlighted that this initiative aligns closely with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. A tree plantation project named ‘One Tree in the Name of Mother’ was launched today at the Ramakrishna Mission in Asansol.
In Maharashtra, a cleanup campaign for the Nandini River took place in Nashik, with approximately 15,000 citizens participating. Nashik Mayor Himagauri Adke extended her wishes for World Environment Day, stating, “We have come together to clean the Nandini River. Our motto is ‘Service is Worship.'”
Maharashtra Minister Girish Mahajan congratulated everyone on World Environment Day, noting, “Today, we are specifically focusing on cleaning the Nandini River. Everyone is working towards a beautiful, clean, and green Nashik. I express my heartfelt gratitude to all.”
