
Kolkata, April 25: Ahead of the second phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections, the Director General of CRPF, GP Singh, visited Diamond Harbour. He joined forces from the CRPF, ITBP, and West Bengal Police to assess law and order. His presence among the troops boosted morale and reinforced efforts to ensure safe and peaceful voting during the 2026 elections.
Earlier, the West Bengal sector of CRPF in Kolkata announced on social media that an ad-hoc command led by Deputy Commandant Naveen Singh Thakur was conducting a special route march and confidence-building operation in the Bangaon police district of North 24 Parganas.
This operation is being executed with operational precision, discipline, and coordination. Its main goal is to establish control in sensitive areas and enhance the visibility of security forces. This ongoing exercise is fostering positive interactions with the public, increasing trust and confidence among local residents.

On April 25, 2026, ahead of the second phase of the WBLA-26 elections, the DG of CRPF led a comprehensive and visible route march and confidence-building measures (CBM) in Nodakhali of the Diamond Harbour police district, in collaboration with CAPF and police personnel.
During the CBM, the DG engaged directly with local residents to promote a sense of security and encourage high voter turnout for free and fair elections. He instructed all CAPF and police officials to implement extensive security protocols, prioritizing a safe and violence-free environment for all voters.
