Parineeti Chopra Shares Insights on Balancing Emotion and Acting

Mumbai, September 30 (Daily Kiran) : Actress Parineeti Chopra is currently making headlines with her web series “Shak: Trust No One.” In a recent interview, she shared her unique approach to acting, emphasizing how she separates her on-screen emotions from her personal life.

Chopra explained that she has a knack for switching between her character and her real self effortlessly. “As soon as I hear ‘cut,’ I return to normal,” she said. “Honestly, I don’t carry any emotions with me for even a second. People often joke about how I can go from crying and screaming to laughing right after ‘cut’ is called. Sometimes, they mimic me and ask, ‘How do you do that?’ I really don’t know, as it’s not something I do intentionally.”

She elaborated on her immersive acting style, stating that while she may feel deeply during a scene, the emotions fade away as soon as filming stops. “Even if I experience genuine feelings, my tears are real, and the physical effort is authentic. But once ‘cut’ is called, I think, ‘Oh, it’s over. I have no more work to do,’ and I genuinely switch off,” she said. “Thank goodness for that, because it can be exhausting. Nowadays, I am playing several intense roles, and if I carried the emotional weight of those characters with me, it would drain me both as an artist and as a person.”

Chopra emphasized the importance of maintaining a balance between her professional and personal life. “I can’t hold onto those emotions all day or waste my time. I have a life outside the set, and I need to live it. Just because I performed an emotional scene today doesn’t mean I should be in an intense mood for my birthday party.”
