Patna, August 26: Pappu Yadav, the MP from Purnia, has responded sharply to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent comments regarding immigration. Yadav stated that the government has been in power for 12 years and should stop discussing immigration issues. He emphasized that the focus should be on the upcoming 2029 elections.
Amit Shah had remarked that the country is not a shelter for all, asserting that only citizens have the right to reside in the nation. He warned that immigrants pose threats to national security, the economy, and demographics.
In an interview in Patna, Yadav expressed confusion over Shah’s continued statements on immigration after 12 years in power. He urged the government not to underestimate the public, who are well aware of the real issues at hand.
Yadav also referenced the ongoing paper leak scandals, criticizing the government for its inability to prevent such incidents while claiming to address immigration. He pointed out that the education system has collapsed under the current administration, while inflation and farmer issues remain unaddressed. He highlighted the alarming rate of farmer suicides and the lack of discussion surrounding them.
Furthermore, he noted the government’s promise of providing two crore jobs for the youth, which seems to have vanished from public discourse. Yadav called for urgent discussions on pressing matters, such as the situation in Manipur and the quest for justice for Ankita Bhandari.
He accused the government of consistently diverting public attention from critical issues. Yadav also took a jab at Amit Shah, suggesting it might be time for him to retire and even have a chance at becoming Prime Minister. However, he affirmed his support for Rahul Gandhi, indicating a firm stance for the 2029 elections.
Regarding student protests, Yadav mentioned widespread anger across the country concerning education and examinations, fueled by what he described as a tyrannical government and coaching mafia.
In response to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s derogatory remarks about Rahul Gandhi, Yadav expressed his disapproval, recalling that Sarma once referred to Sonia Gandhi as “mother.” He stressed the importance of maintaining respect, regardless of political affiliations, and condemned the prevailing atmosphere of hatred and venom.
