Dhanbad, August 2: In a tragic incident in Dhanbad district, Jharkhand, a young man was brutally beaten to death over suspicions of theft. Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the case. Initial investigations revealed that the victim was attacked after being suspected of attempting to break into a house. He succumbed to his injuries hours later while receiving treatment.
On August 1, police received a report about a severely injured young man lying near a jamun tree in Jagjivan Nagar. Upon arrival, they identified the victim as Karan Kumar, a resident of the area.
With the help of family members and locals, the police rushed Karan to Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College and Hospital. Due to his critical condition, he was referred for advanced treatment to a private hospital on Baliapur Road, where he later died.
Dhanbad’s DSP (Law and Order) Prakash Soy held a press conference on Sunday, stating that the police immediately initiated an investigation due to the severity of the incident. During the inquiry, two suspects, Kanhai Lal Bhattacharya and Shiv Prakash, were taken into custody and admitted to assaulting the victim.
According to police reports, Kanhai Lal claimed that Karan Kumar had entered his home with the intent to steal. After apprehending him, Kanhai Lal and Shiv Prakash began to beat him. The commotion attracted nearby residents, who also joined in the assault. Karan later died from his injuries.
The police have arrested both suspects and initiated judicial proceedings. They are actively identifying other individuals involved in the incident and conducting raids for their arrest. Authorities have stated that no one involved in the crime will be spared.
