Patna, June 14: Pappu Yadav, a Member of Parliament from Purnia, responded to the recent vandalism incident at Patliputra Station involving candidates heading to an examination.
Speaking to reporters, Yadav expressed that the hopes of the public, from rural areas to urban centers, have been shattered. He noted that pathways for children are increasingly being blocked, leading to a loss of hope, dreams, and trust among the people. “It is natural for public anger to rise, but we must avoid vandalism, as the train is funded by taxpayers,” he stated. He emphasized that the escalating anger among the populace is manifesting in various forms.
Yadav further urged the government to prioritize the future of children. He remarked that while temples, mosques, gurdwaras, and churches are secure, children, farmers, women, and the poor remain vulnerable in the country. He insisted that while vandalism should not occur, there must be alternative arrangements for students who cannot reach their exams on time due to unforeseen circumstances.
Regarding a fire incident at a warehouse in Kolkata, Yadav claimed that the fire was set to destroy evidence. He asserted that democracy has been dismantled in Bengal, with democratic values being undermined across institutions. He pointed out that the world witnessed the lack of fair elections in West Bengal, where victories were allegedly forced.
It is noteworthy that on Sunday, candidates heading to Patliputra Station created a ruckus, leading to the arrest of six individuals by railway police. An FIR has been filed against approximately 500 unidentified individuals. Several police officers, including IG Jitendra Rana and the Rupaspur SHO, sustained injuries during clashes with the students.
