Greater Noida, May 27: Outrage continues in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, following the murder of 14-year-old Gopal Sharma. His body was discovered in Banwari Bas village, one day after he went missing. The family and local residents are demanding swift action and justice.
Gopal, a ninth-grade student, disappeared on May 21. According to his family, he left home but did not return. His body was found on May 22 in a room in nearby Rohi village, igniting anger among residents of Banwari Bas and surrounding areas.
On Wednesday, a large gathering of villagers and local residents convened at the deceased’s home to express their grief and outrage over the incident.
This murder has raised significant concern and anger throughout the region, with many questioning the delay in identifying and arresting the culprits.
Family members reported that Gopal had allegedly gone towards Rohi village and suddenly went missing, prompting them to search for him. The next day, they found his body, leaving the family in shock.
Gopal’s mother has called for justice, alleging that the police have not provided any clear information. She stated, “I had gone to Jewar. His father went to Noida to bring back his grandfather, who was hospitalized there. Gopal had only gone to a nearby shop; after that, he disappeared. The police are neither informing us nor taking any concrete action. We appeal to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for justice and demand that a bulldozer be sent to the culprit’s home.”
The boy’s father, Bunty Sharma, mentioned that the family had no known disputes or enemies and could not comprehend the motive behind Gopal’s brutal murder.
He added, “We had no personal enmity or disputes with anyone. I cannot understand why someone would kill my son so ruthlessly.”
Residents have also expressed frustration over the slow pace of the investigation, demanding severe punishment for those responsible.
A local resident remarked, “If such people are allowed to go free, it sends a wrong message to the public. If people do not unite, will anyone get justice? If the victim’s family is left alone, will they not receive justice?”
Meanwhile, tensions remain high in Banwari Bas village as residents gather at the victim’s home, demanding immediate action in the case.
