New Delhi, August 29: The statement made by Maulana Sajid Rashidi regarding ‘Islamic law’ has sparked strong reactions from saints.
In a conversation, the chief priest of the Ram Kachhari Char Dham Temple stated, “Maulana Sajid Rashidi’s demands will not be met under any circumstances. His objectives will never be fulfilled. By making baseless and absurd claims, he has stated that until Islamic law is implemented in India, rapes will not stop.” He urged the Maulana to speak with a clear mind, questioning the legitimacy of Rashidi’s open challenge to India.
Mahant Shashikant Das further asserted, “Rashidi may fade away, but his legacy will not be fulfilled. Many have come and gone with the intent to destroy India; they themselves faced ruin. Those who cast a dirty gaze upon India are now in dire straits. Rashidi will meet the same fate.”
Saint Satyendra Das Vedanti remarked, “This Maulana has lost his mind; he lacks even a shred of knowledge about his own religion. If he were knowledgeable, he wouldn’t make statements that invite ridicule. He should cease making irresponsible comments about the country and evaluate his own religion properly.”
Another saint expressed that it is a very unfortunate situation. “Those who mislead society with such statements, especially those who have committed atrocities against their own, have no right to speak on behalf of the nation and society. During the Mughal rule, they inflicted suffering on their own people, and now the Maulana is echoing that same twisted ideology.”
Maulana Shahabuddin stated that India is a democratic nation, which is its strength. “Countless religions coexist here, and people follow their faiths. The Constitution grants us this freedom. This freedom is what gives India its identity worldwide. The calls for implementing Sharia law are not feasible in India. Any form of conflict is not in the interest of the nation or society.”
