Lucknow, July 10: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has sparked controversy with his remarks regarding prayers at Hanumangarhi in Ayodhya. While many have supported his statement, opposition leaders are raising questions. Leaders from the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Congress have responded critically to CM Yogi’s comments.
Samajwadi Party MP Ruchi Veera stated in an interview that CM Yogi should stop distracting the public. She emphasized the need to think beyond Hindu-Muslim and caste-religion divides. The focus should be on youth employment, healthcare for patients, repairing broken roads, and overall development.
Veera also called for strict action against those involved in the Ram Temple case, demanding bulldozer action. She insisted that everyone should be treated equally. If bulldozers are used against some, then why not against those accused of looting at the Ram Temple?
She pointed out that the investigation into the Ram Temple case involved officials from both the central and state governments. Given this, she expressed doubt about receiving justice from them. Only if Supreme Court judges are involved in the investigation can the truth come to light.
In a separate interview, Sharad Shukla, Vice President of the Uttar Pradesh Youth Congress, remarked that the people of Ayodhya are deeply saddened by the Ram Temple issue. Instead of hiding behind the mosque, CM Yogi should explain how such a significant theft occurred in the district where he serves as chief minister and visits frequently.
Shukla criticized Yogi for not addressing the questions surrounding the Ram Temple case, suggesting that the BJP and CM Yogi often hide behind temple and mosque issues to evade accountability. He noted that during Yogi’s visit to Ayodhya, he should have addressed these pressing questions.
He concluded by stating that those who should face action are still roaming freely in the temple area, with no restrictions in place. The BJP’s strategy appears to be to divert attention to temple and mosque issues whenever questions arise.
