Telangana Chief Minister Predicts Congress Victory in 2029 Assembly Elections

Hyderabad, July 11: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has predicted that the Congress party will secure a significant victory in the 2029 assembly elections, maintaining its hold on power in the state.

He expressed confidence that the next assembly elections will occur not in May-June 2029, but before the end of 2028.

Reddy claimed that the proposed delimitation would increase the number of Lok Sabha seats in Telangana from 17 to 26 and assembly seats from 119 to 182. He expressed optimism that Congress would win 20 Lok Sabha seats and 117 assembly seats.

The Chief Minister made these remarks while addressing a public rally in Jagannathpuram, Khammam district, following the launch of the ‘Rythu Bharosa’ fund for farmers.

“I predicted the election results 36 months ago. Congress will return to power by winning 117 out of 182 assembly seats for the second consecutive time. I swear by Lord Rama of Bhadrachalam. This is the resolve of Khammam Congress workers. Let’s ensure victory in 20 out of the 26 parliamentary seats in Telangana and make Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister,” he stated.

Revanth Reddy criticized the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for spreading false survey reports. He accused the opposition party of malicious propaganda by claiming Congress would lose based on fabricated surveys.

“Does anyone conduct surveys or predict wins and losses without knowing the election date or potential changes in reservation policies? The public dealt a crushing defeat to BRS when similar claims were made during the Jubilee Hills by-election,” he added. He further stated that the BRS survey team has become nothing more than a group of noisy, disreputable troublemakers.

Describing the upcoming elections as a ‘Kurukshetra’ battle, the Chief Minister asserted that Congress would not rest until the ‘Kaurav’ Kalvakuntla (KCR) family is politically defeated. He noted that since the formation of the Congress government in 2023, they have ensured victory in every election, confining KCR to his farmhouse.

Revanth Reddy challenged BRS leader Harish Rao to swear on KCR’s name that he would not join the BJP.

He alleged that no one knows where BRS leaders will end up. KTR is unaware of how long his brother-in-law will remain with BRS. KTR’s sister made a shocking statement that BRS would merge with the BJP. She also revealed that contractors from Andhra Pradesh have given millions to BRS. He concluded by stating that there is a lack of mutual trust among the family members of BRS leaders.
