New Delhi, July 11: Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), conducted a thorough inspection of the Blue Line to assess the progress of development works related to passenger facilities and infrastructure. This inspection took place on the nights of July 10 and 11, where he reviewed ongoing construction and improvement projects at various metro stations.
According to DMRC, during the inspection, Dr. Kumar examined the redevelopment of stations, the installation of new escalators, the replacement of Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) gates, and other infrastructure improvements aimed at enhancing passenger convenience. He gathered updates from officials regarding the progress of these projects and evaluated the quality of the work being done.
The inspection covered several key stations along the Blue Line, including Dwarka Sector-14, Dwarka Mor, Rajouri Garden, Karol Bagh, R.K. Ashram, Indraprastha, and Noida City Centre. During this time, he instructed officials to prioritize passenger convenience and safety in all development and upgrade activities.
Dr. Kumar emphasized that all projects should be completed within the stipulated time frame and that efforts should be made to minimize inconvenience to passengers during construction. He also directed that all work must meet established quality standards to ensure better facilities for commuters.
DMRC noted that such extensive night inspections are conducted regularly. The aim is to monitor the progress of development works related to passengers without disrupting metro services and to provide necessary instructions on-site when needed.
The inspection began around midnight at Dwarka Sector-21 Metro Station and concluded at approximately 5 AM at Noida City Centre Metro Station.
DMRC reported that most maintenance and infrastructure improvement works on operational metro lines are carried out at night. This approach is taken to ensure that metro services run smoothly during the day, allowing passengers to avoid any inconvenience.
