Opposition Leaders Criticize Inclusion of RSS Members in NCERT Committee

New Delhi, August 20: The Congress Party and other opposition groups have raised serious concerns regarding the inclusion of members linked to the RSS in the committee responsible for creating a new Political Science textbook for NCERT. They allege that the government is embedding the RSS agenda within educational institutions.

Congress leader Manishankar Aiyar expressed his lack of surprise, stating, “The RSS-BJP are attempting to take control of every institution in our country. We will have to endure this until our government returns.”

Congress MP J.B. Mathur noted, “A pattern has emerged over the past 12 years under the BJP government. Whether it’s NCERT textbooks, universities, or vice-chancellors, we see the RSS agenda infiltrating educational institutions.”

Congress leader Udit Raj remarked, “NCERT should now be referred to as the RSS center. Vice-chancellors, professors, and educational institutions across the country are being dominated. If Mughal history is removed from medieval history, what will remain?”

Ajay Kumar Lallu, another Congress leader, stated, “This is nothing new. In any ministry under the BJP government, whether at the state or central level, the private secretary is typically an RSS member. Directors of boards, institutions, education, health, and commissions are filled with RSS personnel. Any law or rule that is made in the country, whether it incites violence or spreads hatred, first emerges from the RSS’s playbook.”

Lallu added, “Rahul Gandhi has consistently raised concerns about attacks on the Constitution. There is an assault on all institutions connected to the public. The RSS is undoubtedly trying to propagate its ideology and alter history. The country is aware, and in this age of social media, their attempts to change things will not succeed. As long as they are in power, they can manipulate, but eventually, the old systems and institutions will be reinstated.”

RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha questioned, “Why shouldn’t we raise questions? You are including those individuals and organizations that have ruined the education system. Don’t you understand what Gen Z wants? They seek a fair examination system, an education that leads to employment, and an inclusive approach. By bringing in people trained in Nagpur, you are working for your own benefit; this needs to stop.”

Samajwadi Party spokesperson Ashutosh Verma commented, “There can be no greater misfortune for the country than having revolutionaries on one side and the sycophants of the British, namely the RSS, on the other. They have apologized multiple times and even took salaries without displaying the tricolor for 52 years. Now, they are lecturing us on patriotism.”
