Residents of a village in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, are living in fear as stones mysteriously fall on their homes at night.

Anantapur, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : Residents of Appajipeta village in Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh, are living in fear after stones have been mysteriously thrown at their homes during the night. The unsettling occurrences have been reported for over a week, prompting local authorities to take action.
Following numerous complaints from villagers, police deployed four constables to patrol the area. Despite their presence and efforts over two days, the strange incidents continued unabated. Local youths, numbering around 20, joined the police in monitoring the nearby hills, yet stones continued to rain down on rooftops.
Villagers reported that the stone-throwing begins around 10 PM and persists intermittently through the night, causing minor injuries to some residents. Most homes in the area have asbestos roofs, which have been damaged by the falling stones.
Initially, locals suspected mischievous individuals might be behind the incidents. They reached out to authorities, urging them to investigate further. However, despite the police patrols and community vigilance, the source of the stones remains a mystery.
The ongoing situation has left the villagers in a state of anxiety, with many opting to stay indoors after sunset. Some residents have even suggested that supernatural forces could be at play, as their sleep has been disrupted by the disturbances.
This is not the first time such incidents have occurred in the Telugu states. Similar mysterious stone-throwing events were reported in a village in Tiruppur district, Tamil Nadu, in 2024.
As the investigation continues, villagers are calling for more support from authorities to resolve the unsettling situation.
