New Delhi, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : The call for increased security for the renowned saint Premanand Maharaj, based in Vrindavan, is gaining traction among the saint community. Following a letter from Dinesh Falhari Maharaj to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, several prominent saints have voiced their support for this demand. They emphasize that Premanand Maharaj is a source of pride for both Vrindavan and the broader saint community, making his protection a governmental responsibility, especially in light of recent reports of factional disputes linked to his ashram.
Arya saint Varun Das Maharaj expressed his backing for Falhari’s request, highlighting that recent incidents at Premanand Maharaj’s ashram have raised concerns. “The reality of these factional disputes is worth investigating. However, given that Premanand Maharaj is a figure of pride for Vrindavan and the entire nation’s saint community, his security should certainly be prioritized,” he stated.
Mahant Sitaram Das also commended Falhari’s initiative, asserting that it is a moral duty for the Sanatan community to ensure Premanand Maharaj’s safety. “He is indeed a source of pride for us, and it is the government’s duty to take responsibility for his protection,” he said.
Mahant Raju Das pointed out that various elements have emerged over time, often making statements against Premanand Maharaj. He noted that such actions stem from individuals with extremist and distorted mindsets. “This letter by Falhari Ji is timely. We have faith in Chief Minister Yogi and believe that under his government, nothing untoward will happen,” he remarked.
In contrast, Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya argued that Premanand Maharaj does not require additional security, citing the blessings of Radha Rani. He warned against those attempting to exploit the saint’s popularity, suggesting that the focus should be on ensuring no disruptions occur in his devotional practices. He added that Premanand Maharaj is not a political figure and has not made any controversial statements, thus he should not face any threats. However, he advised maintaining distance from certain individuals around him who may pose risks.
Overall, the growing demand for enhanced security reflects the community’s commitment to safeguarding a revered figure amidst rising tensions.
