Opposition Lacks Ground Presence, Claims Haryana Minister Shruti Chaudhary

New Delhi, October 11 (Daily Kiran) : Political rhetoric is intensifying in New Delhi amid ongoing protests against the Cockroach People’s Party. Haryana Cabinet Minister Shruti Chaudhary has asserted that the opposition is virtually absent from the ground and accused Congress of sidelining its grassroots leaders, effectively dismantling its own support base.

Chaudhary stated, “The opposition’s actions are unbecoming, as they are nowhere to be seen on the ground. I was once part of Congress, having contested elections in 2014 and 2019. I recall the long queues of voters on polling days, casting their ballots for the BJP. We witnessed the enthusiasm for the BJP once again this time; people are aware.”

She emphasized that Congress has expelled its leadership, a trend not limited to Haryana but evident in other regions as well. “They have removed those connected to the grassroots in their areas. The party has nothing left. How will they fight when their own ranks have been depleted?” she questioned.

In a related development, Odisha Congress President Bhakta Charan Das has demanded the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, accusing him of vote theft and corruption. Meanwhile, leaders from Shiv Sena and the BJP have accused Rahul Gandhi of tarnishing democracy and promoting divisive politics.

Das remarked, “Congress has always supported the people’s protests and will continue to do so. However, when the police become uncontrollable and the government loses its temper, arrogance takes over. They attempt to conceal wrongdoings, injustices, and corruption.”

He reiterated allegations of corruption and vote theft against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, urging for his dismissal. “Numerous objections have been raised, and the entire country is aware of the situation. Why is the government protecting him?” he asked.

On social media, folk singer Neha Singh Rathore commented on a viral video depicting harassment of a girl at Jantar Mantar. She stated, “When daughters become educated, participate in protests, and question authority, they are chased and beaten. This reflects the reality of your actions. Posting on social media about ‘respecting women’ and slogans like ‘Save the Daughter, Educate the Daughter’ is shameful.”

Shiv Sena spokesperson Krishna Hegde countered Rahul Gandhi’s claims about a lack of democracy, saying, “If there were no democracy, his speeches wouldn’t be broadcast on television or printed in newspapers. The widespread dissemination of his statements proves that democracy in India is very much alive, allowing him to voice his opinions.”

Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya criticized Congress, particularly its top leadership, stating that their mindset has shifted from poor to filled with hatred. “Whenever India has conducted surgical strikes, they have questioned the army. Whenever India, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, has taken a strong stand, they have opposed the nation. We have seen our economy strengthen and its global impact grow. It’s surprising how Rahul Gandhi attempts to tarnish the country’s image while opposing it for personal reasons, which is very unfortunate.”
