New Delhi, August 3: In the Delhi Premier League 2026, both Old Delhi and Central Delhi Kings secured victories in their respective matches on Monday. The matches took place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, where the Central Delhi Kings achieved a hat-trick of wins.
With three consecutive victories, the Central Delhi Kings now sit at the top of the points table. In contrast, North Delhi Strikers find themselves in seventh place after losing their opening match. West Delhi Lions, with one win out of two matches, currently hold the fifth position, while Old Delhi 6 has climbed to fourth place after their recent victory.
In the sixth match of the season, Old Delhi defeated West Delhi Lions by 7 wickets. After losing the toss, West Delhi Lions batted first, scoring 180 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Krish Yadav (43) partnered with Ankit Kumar (86) to put together a solid opening stand of 90 runs. Pankaj Jaiswal and Rajneesh Dadra each took 2 wickets.
In response, Old Delhi 6 chased down the target in just 17.5 overs. They lost their first wicket on the very first ball, with Rohan Rana (0) dismissed. However, Dev Lakra and Samarth Seth formed a strong second-wicket partnership, adding 94 runs. Dev scored 64 runs off 33 balls, hitting 10 boundaries, while Samarth contributed 30 runs. Captain Anuj Rawat (not out 49) then joined Lalit Yadav (not out 30) to secure the win with an unbeaten partnership of 73 runs off 39 balls.
In the day’s second match, Central Delhi Kings overcame North Delhi Strikers by 4 wickets. After losing the toss, North Delhi Strikers batted first, scoring 209 runs with the loss of 3 wickets. They lost Vaibhav Kandpal (5) early at a score of 28. Captain Sarthak Ranjan then teamed up with Yash Bhatia to add 93 runs for the second wicket, reaching a total of 121. Sarthak scored 64 runs off 39 balls, hitting 10 boundaries.
Despite losing 3 wickets for 124 runs, Yash Bhatia (not out 90) formed an unbroken partnership of 85 runs with Bharat Sindhwani (not out 43) for the fourth wicket, propelling the team to a formidable total.
In reply, Central Delhi Kings achieved their target in 18.2 overs. They lost 4 wickets for just 86 runs, but Aditya Bhandari and Jonty Sidhu stabilized the innings with a partnership of 82 runs for the fifth wicket in 36 balls. Jonty scored 75 runs off 38 balls, including 6 sixes and 5 fours, while Aditya contributed 46 runs off 24 balls.
