
New Delhi, August 28: The South Delhi Superstars Women secured a convincing victory against the East Delhi Riders Women, winning by 60 runs in the 2026 Delhi Premier League (DPL).
Batting first, the South Delhi Superstars posted an impressive total of 179 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs, marking the highest score of this edition. Captain Shweta Sahrawat played a pivotal role, scoring an unbeaten 75 runs off 36 balls, which included 8 fours and 4 sixes. Additionally, Tanisha Singh contributed a quick 40 runs from 27 balls, hitting 6 fours.
Wicketkeeper-batter Nishika Singh added 29 runs off 26 balls, while Taniska Singh (10) and Ekta Bhardwaj (8) helped maintain momentum during the middle and death overs.
For the East Delhi Riders, Parunika Sisodia was the standout bowler, claiming 2 wickets for 23 runs in her 4 overs. Simran Bahadur, Poora Sivaach, and Bharti Rawal each took one wicket.
Chasing a target of 180 runs, the East Delhi Riders managed only 119 runs for 8 wickets in their 20 overs, resulting in a 60-run defeat. Simran Bahadur top-scored with 25 runs off 20 balls, while Poora Sivaach also contributed 25 runs from 19 balls. Pragya Rawat added 20 runs off 26 balls, but the East Delhi team struggled to accelerate during the middle and final overs.
The South Delhi bowlers maintained pressure throughout the innings, with Disha Nagar delivering an outstanding performance, taking 3 wickets for 25 runs in her 4 overs. Himakshi Chaudhary also impressed, taking 2 wickets for just 20 runs. Kashish and Mayuri Singh each chipped in with one wicket.
This victory marked the third win for the South Delhi Superstars in their fourth match, while the East Delhi Riders faced their third loss in four matches.
