October 9 Panchang: Moon to Transit in Virgo; Auspicious Times and Astrological Insights

New Delhi, October 8 (Daily Kiran) : The Hindu calendar, or Panchang, holds significant importance in Hindu culture. It is consulted before any auspicious activities, travels, investments, or rituals. The Panchang is based on the positions of the sun, moon, and other celestial bodies.

On October 9, 2026, the Chaturdashi Tithi of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Ashwin will last until 9:36 PM. Following this, the Amavasya Tithi will commence. Sunrise is expected at 6:25 AM, while sunset will occur at 6:03 PM. The moon will rise at 4:55 AM and set at 5:11 PM.

According to the Panchang, the sun will be in the Hasta Nakshatra on this day. Astrologically, the sun’s entry into Hasta Nakshatra impacts all twelve zodiac signs. The moon, which governs this Nakshatra, shares a friendly relationship with the sun. In Vedic astrology, Hasta Nakshatra, meaning ‘hand,’ is the 13th Nakshatra, ruled by the moon and associated with the Virgo sign.

Brahma Yoga will be in effect until 11:19 PM on Friday. This yoga is considered the 25th of the 27 Nitya Yogas and is extremely auspicious. It symbolizes knowledge, intellect, purity, and divinity, with the Ashwini Kumaras as its rulers. Individuals born during this yoga are typically wise, serious, truthful, calm, and philanthropic.

The Abhijit Muhurat, regarded as the most auspicious time of the day, will occur from 11:50 AM to 12:37 PM. This period is approximately 48 minutes long and is believed to eliminate all inauspicious influences when activities are performed during this time.

Amrit Kaal will take place from 2:07 PM to 3:43 PM. This period is considered highly favorable, filled with positive energy, and is believed to yield excellent results for any endeavors commenced during this time. It is ideal for starting new ventures, investments, rituals, and important travels.

However, Rahu Kaal will be observed from 10:46 AM to 12:14 PM, a time considered inauspicious for starting new or auspicious activities. This period is calculated by dividing the time between sunrise and sunset into eight equal parts, lasting approximately 90 minutes each day. While new tasks should be avoided, ongoing activities can continue.

Gulik Kaal will occur from 7:52 AM to 9:19 AM and is often referred to as ‘poisonous time.’ It is viewed as unfavorable, and activities initiated during this period are believed to yield negative outcomes. It is advisable to refrain from starting new work but to continue with ongoing tasks.

Yamgand Kaal will take place from 3:08 PM to 4:35 PM, a time associated with Yama, the god of death. This period is considered unlucky for health, longevity, and can bring about general misfortunes. New ventures should be avoided, and it is best to refrain from travel and financial transactions during this time.

On this day, the sun will be positioned in Virgo. Its entry into this sign significantly influences individuals’ lives, work, and intellectual capabilities. Astrologically, practical and organized approaches are deemed beneficial during this period.

The moon will also transit in Virgo on October 9. In astrology, having the moon in Virgo indicates an analytical, organized, and sensitive nature. Mercury, the ruling planet of Virgo, is a friend of the moon, enhancing its impact on individuals’ lives and personalities.

Lastly, the direction of Dishashool will be towards the west, which is considered inauspicious for travel on this day, according to astrological and Vastu principles.
