New Delhi, October 9 (Daily Kiran) : A disturbing incident unfolded in New Delhi’s Connaught Place during a Congress protest, where a young man was reportedly attacked. The victim, identified as Fahim Nazir Shah, claims he hails from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.
Fahim alleges that he was assaulted by Congress party members after he voiced support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and the Delhi police. Following his complaint, the Delhi police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) concerning the incident.
In an interview, Fahim recounted his experience, stating, “The entire nation witnessed how Congress workers assaulted me. Rahul Gandhi was nearby, heading to a restaurant, but he made no effort to stop his supporters. I was attacked for chanting slogans like ‘Hindustan Zindabad,’ ‘Prime Minister Zindabad,’ ‘Delhi Police Zindabad,’ and ‘Home Minister Zindabad.’”
He questioned the necessity of chaos on the streets while the Supreme Court is reviewing the matter. “You talk about democracy, but the Supreme Court of India exists. When the highest court is hearing this case, why create disorder in the country?” he remarked.
Fahim expressed his commitment to the nation, saying, “I will not allow this country to become like Nepal, Sri Lanka, or Bangladesh. Every drop of my blood is sacrificed for this country, for the Prime Minister, and for the Home Minister.”
He carried a poster stating, “I am the biggest fan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rahul Gandhi should apologize to the Prime Minister.” He explained that he created the poster in response to allegations made by the Congress party regarding Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and the Election Commission.
Addressing the Congress’s claims about EVMs, Fahim pointed out, “The Congress introduced EVMs in 1989, and Rajiv Gandhi brought them in. In 2004 and 2009, you won elections by a large margin using EVMs. But since Prime Minister Modi has been winning since 2014, you suddenly see theft in EVMs? Now the Chief Election Commissioner is a thief working for the BJP?”
When asked about his injuries, Fahim mentioned he sustained wounds to his eye and arm. He expressed gratitude towards the Delhi police for their prompt action. “I thank the Delhi police, Connaught Place station, and the SHO and his entire team for registering my FIR immediately,” he said.
Fahim added, “I am a huge fan of Prime Minister Modi. My first attempt to meet him was on August 23, 2021, when I walked from Srinagar to Delhi. Due to certain reasons, I couldn’t meet him, but that’s a different story. Since then, I have consistently raised my voice on issues related to the country, the army, the state police, the Prime Minister, and the Home Minister.”
