Notorious Gang Member Arrested with Firearm and Ammunition in Major Police Operation

New Delhi, July 1: In a significant breakthrough, the Crime Branch has arrested an active member of the notorious gangster Tillu, also known as Tajpuria, in a sensational attempted murder case registered at the Alipur police station. The incident involved 12 rounds of gunfire during an attempt to seize disputed property.

Authorities seized a semi-automatic pistol, eight live cartridges, a black Scorpio vehicle, and illegal weapons from two suspects. The arrested individuals, identified as Sandeep alias Dagu and Deepak, were apprehended based on intelligence reports. When the police team attempted to stop them, the suspects tried to flee but were caught after a brief chase.

In a separate operation, the Daryaganj police apprehended two vehicle thieves. The police noticed two suspicious individuals riding separate scooters late on the night of June 26-27. When signaled to stop, the suspects panicked and attempted to escape, but were captured a short distance away. The arrested suspects, Mohammad Shadman and Mo. Kaif, are currently under investigation.

Earlier, the Delhi Police uncovered a cyber fraud syndicate known as ‘Digital Arrest.’ Three suspects were arrested in West Bengal, where police recovered six mobile phones, one laptop, 18 debit/credit cards, 15 SIM cards, and other incriminating materials. The police received complaints indicating that the ‘Digital Arrest’ scam had defrauded victims of ₹7.22 lakh. The fraudsters coerced the victim into transferring money via RTGS while maintaining contact through WhatsApp video calls. A case has been registered, and the investigation is ongoing.

Based on technical leads, the police conducted raids in South 24 Parganas and Howrah in West Bengal, leading to the arrest of Samiran Roy, Prince Shaw, and Samar Chatterjee.
