Pune, July 1: The investigation into the murder of Ketan Agarwal is progressing steadily. On Wednesday, Pune rural police revisited Lohagad Fort to reenact the entire sequence of events. During this process, the police threw a fiber dummy, matching Ketan’s height and weight, into a ravine approximately 300 feet deep. This was done to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Earlier, on Tuesday, the police conducted a gait analysis of the second suspect, Chetan Chaudhary. This analysis aimed to determine the route he took and his activities on the day of the crime. The police also recovered the pants he wore on that day.
Sia Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary are accused of murdering the 26-year-old real estate businessman Ketan Agarwal. It is alleged that they killed Ketan at Lohagad Fort on June 18.
Meanwhile, on Monday, a Maharashtra court extended the police custody of both suspects for an additional five days. After the initial remand, they were presented at the Vadgaon Maval Court.
The police informed the court that several crucial aspects of the investigation remain incomplete. The investigative agency needs to conduct a re-examination of the crime scene in the presence of both suspects, trace Chetan’s activities after the incident, investigate phone conversations that occurred post-murder, and gather evidence related to the destruction of Ketan’s passport.
According to the investigation, Sia Goyal allegedly stole Ketan’s passport while stopping at a food mall on the way to Mumbai Airport. She later tore it up and burned it. The family was set to travel to Bali before the wedding, but Ketan could not find his passport at the airport, leading to the cancellation of the entire trip. The police believe Sia intentionally removed the passport to prevent them from traveling together.
Additionally, the driver who was transporting the group claimed that Sia returned alone to the parked car during the trip and came back with some belongings.
