Noida, June 4: The Noida police in Uttar Pradesh have dismantled an online betting racket, arresting four individuals involved in fraudulent activities through online betting websites.

According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Manisha Singh, the Noida police are actively combating crime and criminal activities. On Thursday, a team from Sector-113, led by ACP-3 and SHO-113, apprehended the four suspects linked to the online betting fraud.

The accused had been residing in the area for the past four to five months, executing scams through an online betting app named “B-Book.” They also established a company called Lakshmi Traders, which reportedly recorded transactions amounting to approximately ₹2.4 crore in May alone.

The police seized 26 mobile phones, three laptops, chargers, SIM cards, and other crucial items from the arrested individuals, all of whom are from Andhra Pradesh. A case has been registered against the mastermind behind this operation, and efforts are underway to apprehend him soon.

The four suspects have been presented before the court, and further investigations related to the case are ongoing.

It is noteworthy that a similar incident occurred on May 25 in New Delhi, where the East District Police’s Auto Theft Anti Squad (AATS) uncovered an online IPL betting racket operating from the Madhu Vihar area. The Delhi police arrested members of this gang while they were allegedly placing bets during an IPL match between Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings.

The suspects were identified as Manish Jain (50) from Madhu Vihar, Abhishek Jain (26) from Jagat Puri, and Arpit Gupta (40) from Mandawali Unche Par. Police reported that Manish Jain was allegedly running the betting racket from his home, with the other two assisting him in the operation.
