Noida, June 23: A fire broke out early Tuesday morning at a labor camp in Sector 126, Noida, prompting swift action from fire and police teams.
Officials confirmed that there were no casualties or injuries reported, despite initial fears that several individuals might be trapped inside the building.
Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar Chaubey stated that the fire was reported around 6:20 AM at the labor camp located in the Raipur area of Sector 126.
Chaubey explained, “We received reports of a fire at the labor camp in Raipur around 6:20 AM. Following news of people possibly being trapped, police and fire brigade teams arrived on the scene and began firefighting efforts.”
The labor camp is a G+1 structure, reportedly housing around 50 to 60 workers. Firefighters immediately commenced rescue operations and extinguished the flames amid concerns that individuals might be trapped inside.
The CFO further noted, “This is a G+1 labor camp where approximately 50-60 people were believed to be residing. The fire was caused by a suspected gas leak. When teams arrived, no one was found trapped inside.”
Authorities reported that the fire was brought under control before it could spread further, and all residents were safely evacuated. Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been caused by a gas leak, although a detailed inquiry is underway to determine the exact cause.
This incident occurred just one day after one of the most devastating fires in Uttar Pradesh, which took place in a commercial building in the Aliganj area of Lucknow, resulting in the deaths of 18 people. Officials have identified 15 victims, most of whom were aged between 20 and 24 years. Two injured individuals, Lavpreet and Jayant, are currently receiving treatment at King George Medical University.
