New Delhi, June 5: Nitin Naveen, the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has accepted the resignation of K. Annamalai from the party’s primary membership. This announcement was made by Arun Singh, the National General Secretary of the BJP.
At noon, K. Annamalai is set to engage with the public via social media. Reports suggest that he may announce a significant political decision during this media interaction. His supporters are eager for him to take a bold step in his political career.
In a post on ‘X’, Annamalai expressed his enthusiasm for connecting with people online, exchanging ideas, and fostering open dialogue.
Prior to his resignation being accepted, Annamalai visited Delhi, where he met with Nitin Naveen. He also had a discussion with Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding his political plans.
Following these meetings, speculation grew in political circles that the BJP might persuade Annamalai to stay, but this did not materialize. All eyes are now on his upcoming media interaction.
A former Indian Police Service officer, Annamalai joined the BJP in 2020 and quickly became one of the party’s leading figures in Tamil Nadu. From 2021 to 2025, he served as the state BJP president, leading several statewide campaigns and building a strong support base among young voters and social media followers.
With the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections of 2026 approaching, speculation about his future has intensified, especially since he did not contest the elections despite being one of the party’s most recognized faces.
Political analysts believe that Annamalai appears determined to pursue an independent political path. Meanwhile, rumors about him forming a new political party are also gaining traction.
