Patna, March 8: Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh expressed optimism regarding Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s son, Nishant Kumar, joining the Janata Dal (United) or JD(U). He stated that this development is positive and should be welcomed by the people.
The minister noted that party workers are enthusiastic and have long desired Nishant Kumar’s entry into politics. Now that he has joined, it is a moment for celebration. Nishant Kumar plans to meet with workers from every district; he recently met with district presidents on Saturday.
During a media interaction, Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh mentioned that details regarding Nishant Kumar’s future responsibilities will be announced soon. For now, he will focus on connecting with party workers and strengthening the organization at the grassroots level.
On the issue of disrespect towards President Droupadi Murmu in Bengal, the minister criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her government, stating that they show neither respect for the Constitution nor love for the country. He emphasized that even a tribal woman holding the highest office in the nation deserves respect.
Lalan Singh remarked that Mamata Banerjee seems to care only for her own respect, a behavior that the entire nation has witnessed. He asserted that the people of Bengal will respond to this disrespect in due time.
He further stated that the sentiments of everyone who believes in democracy and the dignity of tribal society have been hurt. Disrespecting the highest constitutional position is an affront not just to an individual, but to the dignity of India’s Constitution and democracy.
The insensitivity and administrative failures of the West Bengal government have come to light once again. Ignoring democratic norms due to power arrogance is unfortunate. The aware citizens of West Bengal are observing these events and will respond appropriately when the time comes.
Nishant Kumar officially joined the JD(U) at the party office in Patna, in the presence of senior party leaders. Following this, he visited the Mahavir Mandir in Patna.
