Navneet Rana Expresses Emotion Over Womens Reservation Bills Failure

New Delhi, April 18: Former MP and BJP leader Navneet Rana expressed her disappointment over the failure to pass the Women’s Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha. She directed her criticism towards the opposition, stating that they were not solely to blame for the setback.

In a heartfelt video message, Rana emphasized that individuals like herself share a greater responsibility for not securing seats for the opposition in their respective districts and cities.

She stated, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the Women’s Reservation Bill. First and foremost, we must apologize for not being able to secure a majority for you in this country. Today was a significant day for us, especially for women. Since the bill was first presented in 2023, we had hoped to see women’s participation rise from 13-14 percent to 33 percent.”

Rana further asserted that the mistakes of the opposition paled in comparison to those of individuals like her, who failed to deliver seats from their regions. She remarked that for the first time since independence, following Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s granting of rights, there was a discussion in the House regarding women’s reservation. Women across the nation had hoped to sit on equal footing with men and contribute to the rights of the country.

She continued, “To all members of the opposition, it is a greater mistake on our part than yours. Whether it is Congress, SP, or Stalin from Tamil Nadu, who opposed this today, I must say that the women of this country will never forgive you. Your wives, who have reached their positions using your name and platform, along with ordinary women who wish to work for the party and the nation, have seen today as a ‘black day’ due to your actions.”

Rana concluded by reminding that no woman in this country will ever forgive the opposition for their actions. As a Prime Minister, you brought this bill to Parliament for the reservation of ordinary women and made every effort.

“On behalf of women, I bow to you. I say this not just as a party worker but as a woman of this country. It will always be regrettable that the opposition has snatched away women’s rights for their political gains.”
