Anjum Batra Discusses the Evolving Character of Mintu in Mamata Legal Hai-2

Mumbai, April 15: In an exclusive interview, actor Anjum Batra, who plays the character Mintu in the popular courtroom drama series ‘Mamata Legal Hai-2’, shared insights about his role.

Batra explained that Mintu primarily mirrored the character of VD Tyagi. He is a loyal friend who stands by his people and embodies friendship beautifully. There is much to learn from him. In the first season, Mintu’s character was mainly limited to comedy, but in Season 2, it has been given significant depth. “I did not expect to see so many different facets of Mintu,” he remarked. This time, the character has a love track, a deeper sense of responsibility, and light-hearted banter with Sujata in the chamber.

The actor praised director Rahul Pandey for adding substantial depth to the story. He noted that the writers have made the show engaging, and Pandey has presented it brilliantly.

Batra also discussed the differences between his character and his real-life persona. “When an actor portrays a character, a part of their personality inevitably seeps into it. So, there are some similarities between Mintu and me, but overall, we are quite different individuals,” he stated.

Recalling his shooting experience, Anjum Batra mentioned that the set was always filled with laughter. The comedy behind the camera is often more entertaining than what appears on screen. Working with Ravi Kishan was a delightful experience, as his comic timing is exceptional. The other co-actors also contributed to a vibrant and lively atmosphere throughout the day.

The actor commended the balance between comedy and seriousness achieved by the writers and director. He said, “The writers have crafted the story thoughtfully, presenting meaningful messages to society effectively while maintaining the comedic essence. The director ensured that this balance is well reflected on screen. It’s a fantastic blend—serious when needed and humorous at the right moments.”
