Patna, April 15: Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi congratulated Bihar’s new Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, expressing hope that he will not only uphold but also advance the development legacy established by former CM Nitish Kumar.
Speaking to the media in Patna, Manjhi said, “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to CM Samrat Chaudhary. He is young, and it is fortunate for Bihar that he will lead the state. I am confident he will elevate Bihar to new heights of development.”
In response to RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s remarks, Manjhi stated that there has been no disrespect towards Nitish Kumar, who voluntarily chose to step down to join the Rajya Sabha.
He emphasized that Bihar will continue to function under Nitish Kumar’s guidance, noting that Kumar has voluntarily relinquished power after serving as CM for 20 years. “This is a high tradition that Nitish Kumar has established,” he added.
Senior BJP leader Dilip Jaiswal also congratulated Samrat Chaudhary, expressing confidence that under his capable leadership and visionary outlook, Bihar will set new benchmarks in development, good governance, and prosperity. “The aspirations of the people will soar to new heights,” he remarked.
Bihar BJP Chief Sanjay Sarawagi echoed similar sentiments, stating that he is fully confident that under Chaudhary’s leadership, Bihar will achieve new milestones in development, governance, and public welfare. He assured that the new government is committed to making the administrative system more effective, transparent, and people-oriented through robust policy-making and clear priorities.
After taking the oath as Deputy CM, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary noted that this responsibility is a result of Nitish Kumar’s trust in him. “I will diligently follow his path, policies, programs, and working style. We aim to carry forward Nitish Kumar’s development model and elevate Bihar to new heights. Various parties have participated in this development model, and we will continue to work in that direction with everyone’s cooperation,” he stated.
He further highlighted that Nitish Kumar’s vision and approach are unique, and they have learned a lot from him. “We must build on that learning. Our goal is clear: to strengthen the path of good governance, development, and public welfare that has given Bihar a new identity.”
