NDAs Mangal Milan Meeting Underway, Discussing Final Phase of Monsoon Session

New Delhi, August 4: The NDA parliamentary party’s ‘Mangal Milan‘ meeting is currently taking place at the Parliament Library Building (PLB). This meeting is expected to focus on the ruling coalition’s strategy for the remaining ten days of the Monsoon Session.

All members of the ruling NDA have gathered for this meeting. Members of the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI), who were previously part of the Trinamool Congress, are also participating for the second time.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President Nitin Naveen, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and other NDA MPs are expected to attend this meeting.

This gathering comes as the Monsoon Session of Parliament enters its final phase. The NDA-led central government is preparing to present several pending bills for discussion and passage, while disruptions from the opposition on various contentious issues are anticipated.

In recent days, the Monsoon Session has witnessed repeated protests and disruptions, with opposition parties raising issues such as the leaking of examination question papers, police action against protesters during the Jantar Mantar demonstration, and the Ram Temple donation theft case.

With both the government and opposition likely to remain steadfast in their positions, the third week of the session may see intensified efforts to advance the central legislative agenda alongside another round of vigorous political exchanges.

The ‘Mangal Milan’ meeting is a new format for the NDA parliamentary party’s weekly strategy discussions, aimed at fostering constructive debate and seamless coalition alignment.

In addition to facilitating daily house management and inter-party consensus during parliamentary sessions, the ‘Mangal Milan’ meeting serves as a means to enhance coordination among NDA constituent parties.

This meeting encourages participation from NDA MPs in debates and ensures the distribution of speaking roles among key allies, including Shiv Sena, LJP, TDP, JD(U), and other regional parties.

Several NCPI MPs, who attended the NDA parliamentary party’s ‘Mangal Milan’ meeting for the first time, praised the ruling coalition’s “organized system.”
