Delhi Traffic Police Intensifies Crackdown Ahead of Festival Season

New Delhi, October 11 (Daily Kiran) : The Delhi Traffic Police has launched a significant operation to tackle the growing congestion in markets as the festive season approaches. On October 11, authorities conducted a special drive in areas such as Mithai Pul, Zorawar Singh Marg, and Sarai Fusi. During this operation, they issued 42 fines for illegal parking, towed away 19 vehicles, and removed 37 roadside stalls. Additionally, three items were confiscated.

According to the police, roadside encroachments and improper parking disrupt traffic flow and create difficulties for pedestrians. As shopping increases during the festive season, maintaining clear roads becomes essential.

The police emphasized the importance of keeping streets free from obstructions to facilitate smooth traffic and ensure pedestrian safety. During the campaign, traders and shopkeepers were informed about the need to keep their goods within designated areas and avoid spilling onto sidewalks.

The Traffic Police reiterated that roads should be used for vehicle movement while sidewalks are meant for pedestrians. Storing or displaying goods on these spaces not only inconveniences the public but also hampers traffic management.

The Central Range of the Delhi Traffic Police has committed to ongoing monitoring and enforcement to keep roads clear of encroachments. They have urged traders and others to refrain from obstructing roads and sidewalks during the festive rush, emphasizing that cooperation and responsible behavior from the public can help alleviate congestion and ensure safer travel for everyone.
