NDA Candidates File Nominations for Karnataka Legislative Council Elections, Kumaraswamy Confident of Victory

Bengaluru, October 5 (Daily Kiran) : Candidates from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), K.M. Suresh and A.P. Ranganath, submitted their nomination papers on Monday for the Karnataka Legislative Council elections. This event took place in Bengaluru, where B.Y. Vijayendra, the state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), expressed confidence that the NDA would win all four contested seats.

Suresh, representing the South-East Graduates constituency, and Ranganath, from the Bengaluru Teachers constituency, conducted a foot march from Lalbagh to the Regional Commissioner’s office in Shantinagar to file their nominations.

Speaking to the media after the submission, Vijayendra noted that the electoral climate is favorable for the NDA. He emphasized that BJP and Janata Dal (Secular) (JDS) leaders and workers are committed to ensuring victory.

“We are working together with JDS leaders and workers to secure a win. The dignity and sanctity of the Legislative Council must be upheld, and deserving candidates should be elected,” he stated.

Vijayendra also assured that the NDA is dedicated to winning all their candidates’ seats. He announced that two more NDA candidates, Namashi and Sankanur, will file their nominations on Tuesday, expressing full confidence in their chances.

H.D. Kumaraswamy, the state’s JDS president and minister for heavy industries and steel, acknowledged the submission of nominations by the two NDA candidates. He expressed optimism about winning the remaining two seats, highlighting the significant contributions made in the education sector during the BJP-JDS coalition government, particularly for teachers and graduates.

Kumaraswamy believes that, especially in light of the KPSC scam, the current government’s shortcomings will lead to support for NDA candidates among teachers and graduates.

The event was attended by several prominent figures, including R. Ashok, the leader of the opposition in the assembly, and Chaluva Narayanaswamy, the leader of the opposition in the council, along with other BJP and JDS leaders. Following the nominations, a meeting was held to discuss the upcoming Legislative Council elections.
