Bhopal, October 7 (Daily Kiran) : Senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Digvijay Singh, is set to embark on the ‘Saty Sanatan Swabhiman Yatra,’ a significant pilgrimage covering nearly 930 kilometers from Ujjain to Ayodhya, beginning on October 20. The journey will feature the Indian national flag and a five-colored religious banner, promoting the message “Yato Dharmastato Jayah” (Where there is righteousness, there is victory).
During a press conference in Bhopal, Singh outlined the yatra’s framework and objectives. It will commence on Vijayadashami from the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain and conclude at the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
The pilgrimage will pass through several towns, including Shajapur, Sarangpur, Rajgarh, Chachoda, Aron, Ashoknagar, Chanderi, and Orchha, before entering Uttar Pradesh, passing through Urai, Kalpi, Kanpur Dehat, and Barabanki to reach Ayodhya.
Singh emphasized that the journey aims to connect significant religious sites, including the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, the Ram Raja Mandir in Orchha, and the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
He explained that the religious banner symbolizes values associated with Sanatan Dharma, while the national flag represents the unity of the country. Singh asserted that Sanatan Dharma encompasses fundamental truths, justice, morality, compassion, sacrifice, and adherence to the path of righteousness. He assured that the yatra would be entirely peaceful and not target any religion, sect, or individual.
The primary goal of the pilgrimage is to raise awareness of the values of Sanatan Dharma and address issues related to the faith of devotees and the security of religious donations. Key topics concerning the management of major Hindu religious institutions will also be discussed during the journey.
In Ujjain, Singh plans to address issues related to the Mahakal Lok project, the quality of idols, and alleged land irregularities. In Orchha, he will question the management of temple accounts, properties, jewelry, and the use of donations. In Ayodhya, he will advocate for transparency regarding donations, offerings, land transactions, and expenditures related to the Ram Temple.
Singh stressed that donations received in the name of Ram should only be used for Ram’s work, and funds received in the name of Mahakal should be allocated solely for Mahakal’s purposes. He emphasized the importance of safeguarding both the faith of devotees and their contributions, which he described as ‘Sanatan Swabhiman.’
Additionally, Singh announced a digital petition and a missed call campaign addressing issues of ‘fund theft’ and ‘vote theft.’ He called for an independent investigation into alleged irregularities and demanded electoral reforms.
