Coimbatore, February 16: Former Punjab minister Navjot Kaur Sidhu praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, describing him as ‘spiritual.’ In contrast, she expressed confusion regarding Congress leader Rahul Gandhi‘s approach in the Lok Sabha.
Speaking to a news agency, Sidhu stated, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is very spiritual, and this reflects in his personality. As for Rahul Gandhi, I find it hard to understand him because he has not yet reached a level where he can engage equally with everyone and be open to dialogue. He still seems influenced by a family-centric mindset.”
Sidhu further remarked, “It appears that he remains tied to the Gandhi family’s mentality, where he lacks the time to listen to those who genuinely wish him well and are trying to guide him correctly. If it takes eight months to meet someone, I believe that is not right.”
She emphasized that a leader should be accessible and willing to listen to honest advice. “A leader must meet everyone, especially those who provide sincere and constructive suggestions. If you are not willing to take that advice, that is your choice,” she added.
Additionally, she shared her experience attending the Mahashivratri celebration at the Isha Foundation in Coimbatore, describing it as a completely different experience compared to watching it online.
“I actually celebrated Shivratri on my laptop, not live. The live experience is entirely different. I came here as an empty vessel, forgetting myself. I am nobody, I am nothing. You must come with this feeling because if you arrive as an empty vessel, the Sadguru will fill you with something wonderful and blissful,” she explained.
On Sunday, devotees across the country gathered to celebrate Mahashivratri with prayers, fasting, and night gatherings. One of the largest events took place at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore, where thousands came together to celebrate this sacred occasion with music, meditation, and devotion.
