Ghaziabad, May 7: In response to the increasing passenger numbers and popularity of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namaste India Corridor, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has launched a new marketing initiative. This initiative invites bids for the selection of licensees for special semi-naming and co-branding rights at 21 key stations along the corridor.
The goal of this initiative is to connect major brands and corporate companies with India’s first Regional Rapid Transit Service, ‘Namaste India’, providing them with extensive visibility and recognition. According to NCRTC, selected brands will have the opportunity to attach their names to the respective station names. This means that a brand’s name can be displayed either before or after the original station name.
Additionally, branding facilities will be available in station premises, concourse areas, platforms, entry and exit gates, as well as on external pillars. This will ensure continuous brand exposure to millions of passengers and people passing by. Notably, the names of co-branded stations will also be included in train announcements, and the brand logo will be prominently displayed on station maps.
NCRTC will also provide dedicated spaces for companies to set up kiosks in station complexes, allowing for direct consumer engagement and experiential marketing.
It is worth noting that semi-naming rights for the Guldar Namaste India station have already been allocated. The 21 stations included in this scheme feature Sarai Kale Khan Namaste India Station, New Ashok Nagar Namaste India Station, Anand Vihar Namaste India Station, Sahibabad Namaste India Station, Ghaziabad Namaste India Station, Meerut South Namaste India Station, Begampur Namaste India Station, and Modipuram Namaste India Station, among others. These stations include stops for both Namaste India and Meerut Metro services.
NCRTC states that these stations are strategically located near densely populated areas, major markets, educational institutions, and residential neighborhoods, providing brands with increased exposure. Since its phased launch on October 21, 2023, the Namaste India service has surpassed 30 million commuter trips, reflecting its growing popularity.
With a maximum operational speed of 160 kilometers per hour, the Namaste India train is making regional travel faster, safer, and more comfortable. It reduces travel time between Delhi and Meerut by nearly one-third. Recently, the Prime Minister dedicated the entire Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namaste India Corridor to the nation and inaugurated the Meerut Metro service.
NCRTC’s initiative is seen as significant not only for increasing revenue but also for strengthening the partnership between private companies and public transport networks. Interested companies can obtain tender documents from the NCRTC official website and the Central Public Procurement Portal.
