Mumbai, August 20: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed his satisfaction with the transformation of the religious city of Ujjain. He acknowledged the significant support from local residents in the expansion of Mahakal Road. Speaking to reporters, Yadav noted that the development of Mahakal Lok has brought about a major change in Ujjain, and the community’s cooperation with the administration has been crucial for the road widening project. He emphasized that the expansion and revitalization of roads will lead Ujjain into a new era.
Yadav thanked citizens for their voluntary contributions, including relocating their homes and institutions to facilitate the project. He stated that the commitment of the government, combined with the resolve of the people, is paramount. Residents from all communities have united to pledge for a golden Ujjain by widening their respective roads. After some initial challenges, Ujjain’s transformation into a magnificent city is on the horizon.
Preparations are in full swing for the grand Kumbh Mela, Singhast-2028. In this context, Ujjain has recently received a new elevated corridor worth ₹945.20 crores, spanning 5.30 kilometers, aimed at enhancing facilities for pilgrims. Chief Minister Yadav remarked that Singhast will be the largest religious tourism fair. The administration has made excellent arrangements for managing devotees during Nag Panchami.
Reflecting on his past involvement, Yadav recalled being a member of the Scout and Guide during the 1980 Singhast. He noted that various precautions were taken during the 2016 event, and improvements were made at Ram Ghat. The need for a bypass in Ujjain was also recognized. The construction of Mahakal Lok has boosted religious tourism, consequently increasing local employment.
He added that the government is progressing towards the construction of the Indore-Ujjain Metropolitan area. Modern technology will be integrated into the development of multi-elevated corridors between Ujjain and Indore. The new corridor will also serve as an alternative route to Mahakal Temple. Additionally, necessary bridges are being constructed over railways and rivers in Ujjain.
