Mumbai Railway Police Receives Threatening Call Demanding ₹5 Crore

Mumbai, April 28: Security agencies in Maharashtra’s capital, Mumbai, are once again on high alert. The railway police control room received a threatening call, prompting increased vigilance across the system. Authorities are taking the matter seriously and have launched an investigation.

According to the railway police, the Mumbai GRP control room received a call from an individual claiming to have targeted a railway station and an army office. The caller, identifying himself as ‘Irfan,’ issued a threat demanding ₹5 crore, stating that this was necessary to save the lives of ordinary people.

Officials reported that the call was made to the railway control’s WhatsApp number. Investigations revealed that the number used for the call was registered in Pakistan. However, initial inquiries have not uncovered any suspicious objects or activities in the area. Despite this, police are exploring every angle of the case and have tightened security measures.

The police emphasized that such threats cannot be taken lightly, and immediate action is being taken on all information received.

Previously, on April 8, a fake bomb threat call caused a brief panic in Mumbai. Around 11:54 AM that day, an individual called the beat marshal system claiming, “I am a terrorist, and a bomb blast is about to happen in Mumbai.” This prompted immediate alerts from police and security agencies.

However, within hours, the police identified the caller as Tufan Noor Lal Sheikh, a 46-year-old laborer residing in the APMC market area, Sector-19. Senior police officer Ajay Shinde stated that the suspect was arrested promptly, and during interrogation, he admitted to making the call while under the influence of alcohol.
