New Delhi, May 12: A mock drill named ‘Agni Chakra’ was conducted at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi to prepare for aircraft accidents. Personnel from CISF, ARFF, Delhi Police, BDS, medical teams, airlines, and ground agencies participated in the exercise.
Upon receiving reports of an aircraft accident, CISF personnel quickly secured the accident site and regulated traffic to assist in rescue and evacuation efforts.
The mock drill assessed inter-agency communication, emergency response, casualty management, and crisis management, providing insights into CISF’s preparedness.
Earlier, on April 6, a high-intensity anti-hijacking mock drill was held at IGI Airport, involving CISF, NSG, Delhi Police, BCAS, DGCA, and DIAL officials.
Additionally, a joint counter-terrorism mock drill took place at IGI Airport on March 30, where CISF, QRT, BDS, dog squads, Delhi Police, and NSG focused on simulating terrorist attacks.
Other airports across the country have also recently conducted mock drills. Last month, a multi-agency mock drill simulating a terrorist attack was held at Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya, involving CISF, UP ATS, and local police.
In March, an anti-hijacking exercise was conducted at Tiruchirappalli International Airport, with participation from multiple agencies. An anti-hijacking mock drill was also organized at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar in April.
