Nanning, September 18 (Daily Kiran) : The China-ASEAN Data Cooperation Business Committee was officially established on September 17 in Nanning, the capital of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, according to the Chinese National Data Bureau. This marks a significant step in international data collaboration.
The World Data Organization, headquartered in Beijing, is recognized as the first professional international body aimed at promoting data development and governance practices. The newly formed committee will focus on several key areas: facilitating cross-border data flow with ASEAN countries, ensuring inclusive access to intelligent computing resources, co-developing regulations and standards, building member ecosystems, and fostering the growth of industry groups.
Through these efforts, the committee aims to bridge the data gap, highlight the value of data, and support the growth of the digital economy. During the launch, the Chinese National Data Bureau emphasized its commitment to actively participating in global data governance. They also expressed support for the World Data Organization in leveraging professional expertise from various sectors and promoting international cooperation on data-related issues.
