According to flight tracking website Flightradar24, the incident occurred while the plane was over the Atlantic Ocean. The sudden descent and transmission of the 7700 code attracted the attention of aviation experts and observers.

At this time, the specific nature of the issue that prompted the emergency declaration remains unclear. The 7700 code indicates a general emergency and is used to signal air traffic control when immediate assistance is needed.
