India Reaffirms Support for Afghanistan at Moscow Format Talks

Moscow, October 5 (Daily Kiran) : India has once again expressed its commitment to the welfare of the Afghan people and support for Afghanistan’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. This reaffirmation came during the eighth Moscow Format talks on Afghanistan held on October 5, 2026.

The Indian delegation, which included Ambassador Vinay Kumar and Joint Secretary Dr. M. Suresh Kumar, participated in discussions organized by the Russian Foreign Ministry. The Indian Embassy in Russia shared this information on social media, highlighting India’s longstanding friendship with Afghanistan.

In recent developments, India delivered another shipment of life-saving medicines and medical supplies to Kabul as part of its humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan. The Ministry of External Affairs announced that this aid continues, with a recent consignment aimed at supporting the city’s government hospital.

The focus of India’s humanitarian efforts has been on improving healthcare for the Afghan people. This initiative follows India’s previous delivery of medical supplies to a government hospital in Kabul on August 20, aimed at strengthening its health partnership with Afghanistan.

India’s ongoing support also included relief materials dispatched in July to assist those affected by devastating floods in Nuristan. These efforts underscore India’s commitment to providing essential humanitarian assistance, including medicines and relief supplies, to the Afghan people.
