
Kolkata, May 29: West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh addressed reporters regarding the construction of a mosque at Kolkata Airport. He emphasized that while many religious places have been established in Bengal, they should be respected rather than used for land encroachment.
Ghosh raised concerns about how the mosque was allowed to be built at the airport. He stated that if it was constructed illegally, it must be removed. He questioned who permitted its construction and warned those who have built shops or homes illegally to take them down.
Commenting on Siddaramaiah’s resignation from the chief minister‘s position, Ghosh remarked that it has been a tradition for Congress leaders not to complete their terms. He noted that this is an internal matter for Congress, but the public should benefit from justice and development.
Regarding Kakoli Ghosh’s complaint against Speaker Kalyan Banerjee, Ghosh stated that such issues have long existed within the TMC and have now reached the top levels. He predicted that the TMC would gradually fade away, as it was run by a mix of socially motivated, self-serving, and corrupt individuals, all focused on profit.
Ghosh criticized former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her family, claiming they have all become wealthy at the expense of the poor. He asserted that the money they have amassed is taken from the central government’s schemes.
On the occasion of Bakrid, Ghosh commented on Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari’s visit to the ISKCON temple, stating that he has maintained a long-standing relationship with ISKCON. He has visited for over a decade, participating in prayers and worship. Ghosh expressed that the government’s direction can be gauged from such visits, emphasizing the importance of spiritual leaders in guiding society. He criticized the CPM for undermining the morale of the people and disrespecting saints and religious leaders.
On the issue of illegal immigrants, Ghosh stated that Bangladeshis, Rohingyas, and others who are not citizens must return to their home countries. He warned that if they do not leave voluntarily, they will face dire consequences. He insisted that all must go for the country to find relief.
