New Delhi, June 13: Sejal Pawar, a third-year student at KEM Hospital, has been placed on a 15-day forced leave following a controversial statement she made. The incident arose during a live show hosted by comedian Pranit More, where Pawar’s remarks sparked significant backlash.
The hospital administration has initiated an investigation into her comments, which have gone viral on social media. Access to the hostel and college campus has been restricted for Pawar, and a five-member committee is expected to submit its report within seven days.
According to reports, Sejal Pawar has been handed over to her family amid the ongoing controversy. Preliminary investigations indicate that the individual in the viral video is indeed Pawar, and her statements are deemed unacceptable by the institution.
For the next 15 days, Sejal Pawar will not be allowed to enter the KEM Hospital premises, medical college, or hostel. During this period, she will also be barred from participating in any academic or extracurricular activities.
The controversy began during a live show hosted by comedian Pranit More, where he engaged with the audience, including Pawar. During this interaction, she allegedly made comments that have since led to public outrage.
It is alleged that she joked about the body parts of cadavers used in medical education. In the viral video, Pawar can be heard stating that she and some of her peers would mock the private parts of male corpses donated for medical research and dissection. Following the video’s circulation, KEM Hospital administration took immediate action.
Dean Harish Pathak stated that appropriate measures are being taken regarding the controversy surrounding Sejal Pawar’s comments during the stand-up show.
