CRPF Announces Major Recruitment for Athletes: 521 Positions Open from October 12

New Delhi, September 23 (Daily Kiran) : The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has unveiled a significant recruitment opportunity for those wishing to serve the nation. An official notification has announced the opening of 521 positions under the sports quota, including roles for head constables and constables in general duty.

Among the 521 vacancies, there are 182 positions for head constables and 339 for constables. Specifically, the head constable roles include 32 for women and 150 for men, while the constable positions comprise 81 for women and 258 for men.

The recruitment spans various sports, with specific allocations: 60 for aquatics (swimming, diving, water polo), 3 for archery, 101 for athletics, 5 for badminton, 16 for basketball, 11 for bodybuilding, 20 for boxing, 22 for football, 12 for gymnastics, 12 for handball, 15 for hockey, 16 for judo, 27 for kabaddi, 17 for karate, 53 for shooting, 14 for taekwondo, 20 for volleyball, 20 for water sports (kayaking, canoeing, rowing), 19 for weightlifting, 20 for wushu, 26 for wrestling, and 12 for yoga.

The online application process will commence at 9 AM on October 12 and will close on November 11. Interested candidates can apply through the CRPF’s official website. A correction window for any errors in the application will be available from November 12 to November 14.

Candidates must have completed their 12th grade or possess an equivalent qualification from a recognized board or university. Additionally, athletes who have represented the country in approved international competitions are eligible to apply.

The age criteria stipulate a minimum age of 18 and a maximum of 23 as of August 1, 2026, with age relaxation for candidates from reserved categories.

Selection will be based on identity verification, document checks, merit scores from achievements, physical standard tests, sports trials, detailed medical examinations, and final merit lists. Salaries for constables range from ₹21,700 to ₹69,100, while head constables can earn between ₹25,500 and ₹81,100 monthly, along with additional benefits.

Candidates must pay an application fee of ₹100 for general, OBC, and EWS (male) categories. Women, SC, ST, and ex-servicemen are exempt from the registration fee.
