Tehran, September 23 (Daily Kiran) : Iran’s military has dismissed U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent threat to “destroy” the Islamic Republic, interpreting it as a manifestation of America’s “strategic desperation.” The Iranian military warned that if the U.S. or Israel were to launch another attack, Iran would respond with unprecedented force.
In a statement released through the Mehr news agency, Iran’s General Staff accused Trump of using the United Nations General Assembly platform to justify aggression against Iran. The statement asserted that Trump’s remarks reflect a state of “strategic stalemate” for the U.S. The Iranian military rejected the notion that Trump’s repeated threats signify American power, instead characterizing them as indicators of strategic despair.
The military emphasized that Iranian armed forces are fully prepared for retaliation against any aggression from the U.S. or Israel. They cautioned that any future military response could be “far more devastating” than previous actions taken during earlier conflicts.
This response from Iran follows Trump’s stern address at the United Nations, where he adopted a hardline stance towards Iran. During his speech, Trump warned of severe consequences for any new military actions by Iran against the U.S. and its allies, even suggesting the possibility of “destroying” the Islamic Republic if necessary.
Iran’s military leadership stated that attempts to pressure the nation through threats would yield no results. They affirmed their readiness to respond to any potential attack, indicating that the nature of their response would be formidable and unpredictable.
The General Staff also criticized Trump’s UN address, claiming that he used the international stage to legitimize military action against Iran. Such statements, they argued, would only increase tensions in the region rather than alleviate them.
Despite the rising tensions between Iran and the U.S., diplomatic communication remains ongoing. During the UN General Assembly, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi engaged in discussions with representatives from several countries, including France. Tehran has consistently maintained that it will not accept pressure on issues related to its national interests and sovereignty.
