Mayawati Hints at Akash Anands Return to BSP Following Father-in-Laws Political Exit

Lucknow, September 9 (Daily Kiran) : In a significant development for the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), party leader Mayawati has indicated that Akash Anand could be reinstated if his father-in-law, former Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Siddharth, decides to retire from politics entirely. Mayawati emphasized that Siddharth should prioritize the party’s interests over personal ambitions to enable Anand to operate freely within the BSP.

In a series of posts on social media platform X, Mayawati highlighted the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Punjab, stressing their critical importance for the BSP and the broader Ambedkarite movement. She noted that party workers, officials, and supporters are diligently working to achieve favorable electoral outcomes.

Mayawati pointed out that the Bahujan community, along with the BSP and the Ambedkarite movement, faces serious challenges from rival political parties and casteist forces, particularly concerning issues like reservation. She called for unity among all societal segments, urging Dalits to refrain from pursuing personal or familial interests that could hinder the movement’s objectives. She warned that history would not forgive those who obstruct this mission.

The BSP leader stated that the party leadership evaluates individuals based on their behavior and contributions before assigning responsibilities within the organization. She added that disciplinary actions are taken against those who create obstacles, citing Ashok Siddharth as a prime example.

According to Mayawati, Siddharth was given multiple opportunities to reform but consistently prioritized his personal and political interests over the BSP’s mission. This has adversely affected not only him but also Akash Anand’s political prospects.

Mayawati criticized Siddharth for neglecting both Anand’s future and the BSP’s interests. She urged him to set an example of sacrifice and dedication to the party and society, noting that he still has the chance to step back from politics and relinquish his ambitions. If this occurs, Anand may be allowed to work independently within the BSP, and the party could sympathetically consider restoring his responsibilities. Mayawati asserted that there is considerable support within the party for this idea.
