Mayawati Criticizes Oppositions Politics, Calls for BSPs Return to Power

Lucknow, May 24: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) National President Mayawati has described the current political, social, and economic conditions in the country as “tragic and bitter.” Speaking on Sunday, she highlighted rising inflation, unemployment, and issues related to law and order, stating that the public is increasingly anxious due to pro-capitalist policies. She accused opposition parties of engaging in narrow and deceptive politics, while the dignity and safety of citizens continue to be at risk.

During a significant meeting at the BSP’s Uttar Pradesh State Unit office, Mayawati reviewed preparations for the upcoming assembly elections, focusing on strengthening the organization at the booth level and strategies to enhance the party’s support among all sections of society. She emphasized the need for the party to become more “agile and alert” in light of the changing electoral landscape and new challenges, aiming to secure a fifth term for the BSP government in Uttar Pradesh.

Mayawati pointed out that the current political and economic climate naturally leads to increased insecurity and dissatisfaction among the populace. She noted that the politics driven by wealthy capitalists and money power adversely affects every segment of society. Governments must fulfill their constitutional responsibilities and focus on fundamental issues such as public welfare, employment, peace, and law and order.

She stated that the people of Uttar Pradesh are now looking towards the “tested” BSP government and its leadership with hope. Mayawati urged party workers to avoid any negligence in election preparations and to confront every political maneuver and conspiracy from opponents with strength.

She mentioned that special care is being taken in selecting candidates for the upcoming assembly elections, prioritizing strong and publicly accepted candidates for the benefit of the people. The party’s goal is not merely to gain power but to re-establish the policy of “Sarvajan Hitay and Sarvajan Sukhay” (for the welfare and happiness of all).

Referencing the recent assembly elections in five states, Mayawati stressed the importance of seriously considering the electoral events and circumstances. She called on party workers to engage with the public under the mission of “pressing the button on the elephant to return to power,” emphasizing that securing votes is as crucial as protecting respect, life, and rights.
